A guide to a festive table

Theme and colour pallet

Start by choosing a theme and a colour pallet.  Dark palettes of rich and muted tones such as dark green, black, dark blues and grey add coziness to the atmosphere.  For a glamorous ambiance incorporate metal elements into the tableware.

Christmas table centrepiece

Your centrepiece should be the star of the show. As an alternative to a table runner use greenery with scattered pinecones.  To create a warm, moody glow add a few candle holders with black, gold, or brass accents and place them strategically on the table to create an intimate atmosphere.

Dinnerware

For an elegant look, choose fine china or dark stoneware for your dinnerware. The deep colours and delicate designs will contribute to the overall ambiance. As for glassware, consider using crystal to add a touch of sophistication.

Textures

Mixing and layering textures can create a visual interest to the table and make it more inviting. Instead of traditional napkin rings use rosemary, rope or ribbon with a linen.

Place cards

Elevate your table décor with personalized place cards and consider placing a menu card on top for a personalized touch.

Music

To complete the mood, choose festive music that enhances the ambiance.

With careful attention to colour, texture, lighting, and details, you can set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Your guests are sure to be captivated by the ambiance you’ve meticulously crafted.
